No filters, Panasonic GX1 converted IR camera, 850nm. So pure b&W (no false colour), well after getting rid of the purple.

Next move... stick with Canon or move to Sony?

I had an A7S and EF lenses like probably on the Sony A7 Mk 1 via the Sigma MC-11 were painfully slow (3-4s to acquire focus if at all). I then got a Sony A9 and the difference was night and day, hardly distinguishable from the Sony native lenses I've tried and subject detect worked fine. I...

I would consider it if it had the option for a viewfinder.

No pin on my copy, a very loose switch which reads A or M. Switching to M, it closes down from wide open to almost wide open and no smaller.

    Phot show, anyone going?

There is a cheaper option of £299 but I can't see what the differences are compared to the more expensive variant. I guess because it has 3/4 lens options your in effect getting more for your money....

How high an ISO is too high (for you)?

Absolutely, anything taken on a tripod, then ISO 200 is probably the max I'd go up to.

Suggestion on which MF to get - up to £500 (ish)

Not mentioned yet and something I'm thinking about is the Pentax 6x7 with Waist level finder as it weighs less than the pentaprism viewfinder combo but still quite heavy/big hence why I haven't yet succumbed. I have a Yashica 24 and a couple of folders but often fawn over images taken by the...

OFFICIAL I HAVE A NEW (FILM RELATED) TOY THREAD!!

I picked up one of these the other day but on mine, the aperture ring is stuck pretty much wide open, I wonder whether it is worth a little DIY especially as I've never opened a lens either...?

How high an ISO is too high (for you)?

It very much depends on sensor size, on my old Olympus em1, 3200 was/is probably my limit. On the Mk 2 I would use 6400 in a pinch as Denoise AI works ok. 6400 is probably more acceptable on my Fuji X-E1 (aps-c) and although I've not had the Sony A9 FF for long but, if it's similar to the old...
