Nikon Rumors now say it definitely won't be before late June for the z6iii. I think the acquisition of Red has pushed everything back a little.

excellent photos, especially the last two. The focus doesn't seem quite on with nos. 3 and esp. 4, though? I imagine if eye detect was used with 4, it might have had a problem finding the eye.

the only USB powered sockets are on the PC and at best there's only one free. Of course I have chargers for my phone and iPad but I don't suppose these are compatible. The official Nikon chargers are not inexpensive. Of course I currently have a charger but that would be sold with the Z6 if I...

my tests over a couple of days showed some photos were absolutely fine, though probably not quite as detailed as the 24-70 I still had at that time (within the common range). However there were far too many focus errors and very poor wide-angle edge performance. I suspect there is some sample...

Anyway, I did go to the open day in the local Photoplanet yesterday and played around with the Zf with grip attached. Seems doable with the 100-400. Do like the dials and they seem unusually well designed with a feeling of quality. Fortunately, you can't actually buy anything in a shop with just...

with my copy of the 24-120 v a 24-200 which I tried out, it's night and day -- the 120 is far better is every respect. May simply have been a poor (second hand) copy of the 24-200. And I wouldn't say a 60g weight difference is that much but some may notice it.

    Oh dear, my finger slipped!

it doesn't help that there is a hands-on open day at the shop tomorrow where the Zf will be among the cameras featured. I must resist.....

my problem is that as things stand, I'm tending to use the Df for manual focussing of legacy lenses which is a particular strength of that camera (and AF of older D AF lenses which don't AF on the Z). If I didn't have the Df, the Zf would be even more tempting. But of course I haven't yet ruled...

it will at least offer a proper card slot. The single most annoying thing about the Zf is that it doesn't have a XQD card slot.Having got used to the speed of these cards (and reliability), I'm not sure I'd want to go back, although of course my Df uses standard SD's and I'm far from a high...

    Nikon Z* mirrorless

Well I just happened to be in town this morning and the store on the way back just happened to have one. Reasonably pretty, though it was actually smaller than I'd expected -- perhaps as everyone has said it's bigger than they'd expected. Exactly how to hold it is another matter but they have a...

I know what you mean about the X-Pro2 which was my previous camera before switching to Nikon Z. It had a very distinct character. I wonder if the Zf has actually arrived in the local shops yet? A while since i had a look.

I think the ability to quickly visualise a shot in B&W without endless tinkering around in menus is potentially very useful and is one of the main attractions of the Zf. I'd still almost certainly shoot RAW, though, to ensure maximum dynamic range etc.

and that's precisely where Ruby spends most of her time. Had to abandon any attempt at a serious walk as it was an absurd 27.5C this afternoon -- that's hotter than it's supposed to be in July......
