    Nikon z 180-600 alternatives

I considered the 500mm PF as it’s a fantastic performer and far better than its price point (it shines in this review). The only reason I didn’t was because to get an excellent/as new condition 500mm PF via stores it would be £2-2.2k. That’s a lot to invest in a F mount lens for use on...

    Nikon z 180-600 alternatives

    I’m not sure you’d save much weight with the 100-400 + 1.4 TC over the 180-600 lens. 1.4 TC = 220g 100-400 = 1435g Total = 1655g 180-600 = 1950g I recently swapped the 100-400 for the 400mm f4.5. The 400mm f4.5 was originally the lens I wanted when moving to the Z8 but a well priced 100-400...

Photography insurance renewal cost has dropped - is this right???

After checking my insurance certificate from 2022 against the 2024 renewal they have dropped the cover for equipment away from home, theft from a vehicle and accidental loss to just £1k instead of the original £13.5k. That’s a huge difference in insured value. It should not have changed as all...

Photography insurance renewal cost has dropped - is this right???

I can’t see anything obvious in the documents. Im going to give them a call. All that should have changed was removing the canon R6 & 100-500 and replace them with the Z8 and 400 f4.5 as high value named items. Cost covered increased from £14.3k to £15k due to changing from canon to Nikon.

Photography insurance renewal cost has dropped - is this right???

I’ve just had my photography equipment insurance cost email from Eversure: Now whilst it’s sounds great its dropped from £243 to £89, to me it just doesn’t sound right that a) it’s dropped when insurances seem to be increasing and b) has dropped by so much! I updated my photography insurance...

MPB - how accurate are their "instant valuations"

I’ve sold a few items recently to MPB and in previous years. I’ve found them to be quite accurate often getting a slight increase in price for the same condition. It really depends on your self evaluation of condition. If you choose as new when it’s actually in poor well used condition then...

    Nikon Z* mirrorless

There’s a 2.01 firmware update now. I gather there were a few issues with the 2.0 firmware causing a green colour cast on some photos.

    Nikon Z* mirrorless

I recently stayed near Bempton Cliffs and got a chance to try out the Z8 and 400mm f4.5 with the gannets. Sadly I only got one evening as fog rolled in the second evening. That meant I didn’t try out the 1.4 Z TC I wanted to get bare lens vs TC lens to check out the performance. Still a good...

Beginner NIKON D3200 8 55mm lens out of focus

Sounds like focus operates when you press the shutter which is normal. The camera will only try to focus when you press the focus button (which is usually set as half pressing down the shutter button. A full press with activate the shutter to take the photo). You can separate the focus from the...

Gannets at Bempton Cliffs mid May?

I’d like to visit the gannets at Bempton cliffs this year. We’ve hired a campervan and our original plan to visit Isle of Skye has fallen through as it’s now too late to book space on campsites mid May (our hiring company has had their new van delayed and work changes have lead to them closing...

    Nikon Z* mirrorless

after the replies from @Unlocker and @Swanseajack and looking at reviews I’ve decided to miss out on hiring a Z 1.4 TC and picked up a used copy from WEX. It was as new condition and the same price as one sold for on here a few months ago. I have a few subjects ideas for spring which could do...

    Nikon Z* mirrorless

If you play the odds with a few visits to find them close.,300mm would be fine as I’ve use around that before. These weren’t that far away, I had to keep moving back along the path with it being a fixed 400mm. I’m not used to a prime having not used a long prime for 10 years (and that was a...
