Thanks Trevor. It was more of a grab shot, I had just pulled up on my mobility scooter and I heard the noise of the goose and managed to grab this one and the couple of next shots were OOF or my framing wasn't good enough.

Love how you have caught the plane in between the towers/stacks on the second photo.

Thanks...The 500mm PF has been on my mind a bit lately. If I had realised when I purchased the 400mm f4.5 that I could have used the 500mm PF as the weight isn't huge between the two lenses I would have gone for that lens using the FTZ11. (the 180-600 wasn't available) Not sure how the the 500...

Hi Rob A couple of test shots using the combo you mention of interest. I had a play around with my combo of a Robin in the garden yesterday. As you can see from the EXIF, ISO 6400 @f7.1 from looking on my screen I think the combo works well and considering the poor light at the time. Edit: I...

Anyone using the Nikon Z 70-200mm f2.8 lens with a Z8? if so, what's your thoughts on the combo in real life use. I have recently bought the 70-180mm f2.8 and wide open at the wide end it's a tad soft until stopping down to f5.6, and through to about 105mm. From there it's tack sharp up to the...

If you go through the last 6 pages or so, to my eyes the Voigtlander 50mm APO seems an excellent lens if you don't mind 50mm as a focal length. It's on my radar.

Thanks for the reply Steven...I have had a lay off from photography for a few years...I used to find Topaz way to slow and why I'm not using it anymore. I find the LR version is good for my eyes and from limited trial.

Thanks James,...I have been having a play around with Lightroom Denoise to see how it performs on these above images, I'm happy with the results but perhaps a tad over sharpened.

Trying out LR version of Denoise on this photo of a Goldfinch. Used Topaz in the past but don't think I'll bother anymore and stick with LR. Although it looks a tad over sharpened on this forum. Goldfinch by Swansea Jack, on Flickr
