    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

The 9-18mm is a very popular lens, so small for its field of view, and rarely do you need big, fast glass for wide angle shooting. I'd love one - I wish the OM system redo of it was somewhat weather resistant but I think all they did was give it a face-lift.

I should add I know less than nothing about how to make a camera and I'm sure there are plenty of reasons why some of the features (such as live ND) are not present. For one thing, big computing = big heat management. Maybe it's a physical limitation.

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

Arrived today, had a quick test. It's very good! It's the same sensor and firmware mostly, so I'm quite familiar, but of course in a smaller body you don't get the same stabilisation so live ND is missing (see post above - I loved live ND as well). However, it has some real advantages over...

Never used the wide one, but the 40-150mm R is fabulous. Much better than it has any right to be - I just sold my 40-150mm F4 pro, which is definitely better in most ways (metal, weather sealed, bit sharper, faster etc) but I actually missed the tiny 40-150mm R. So I've got another on the way.

Ibis will work no matter what, but no sync IS ( it relevant on these lenses as not stabilised anyway). The aperture ring, sadly, does not work. A great peeve - I wish panasonic/olympus shared those pieces. However you can change aperture by the camera using the normal methods.

There are not really any lemons in the m43 system. If you want a street prime, just match to the focal length and size you want. Really good ones are: Panasonic 14mm 2.5. Tiny and sharp. 28mm equiv. Panasonic Leica 15mm 1.7 - as above, but better. More light, faster focus, still tiny. 30mm...

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

I did it - traded my em1 mark iii and 40-150mm pro lens for the ep7 and kit lens. Yep, it's a massive downgrade, but I use my epl-7 a lot more to be honest, and the 40-150mm F4 pro is excellent, small, sharp, light etc but doesn't get tons of use - it's in that weird spot where it's not long...

I don't have an om-1 so well out if turn, but can you confirm whether it's autofocus? Say, set to manual focus, and confirm?

Yup, gave in to temptation and my em1 mark iii is up for sale. Can't wait to regret that decision!

Wow, there is a pretty killer deal from OM system right now - olympus ep7 with pancake kit zoom (electronic zoom, but a seriously underrated lens that focuses close, is tiny and plenty sharp wide open) for £550...

That's fine, i don't rattle off lots of shots anyway. I would prefer the x pro anyway - it's prettier to look at :) and would be a big brother to my epl-7, which won't go anywhere.

Sweet. Xpro 2 is probably on my horizon then. I don't think I can afford an x pro 3, they're really holding value... I suppose I could consider an xe4 if I want a more modern body. I tried everything, and really struggled in some photos more than others. Like I say, it isn't actually a problem...

To be honest though, I'm massively loving my epl-7 and I think an xpro 2 or x pro 3 is in my future as a similar, but upgraded, experience. I tend to use the pana 20mm and the olympus 45mm lenses so there are excellent fuji equivalents but I'd get the wonderful rangefinder experience.

The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Sort of - I know it can bracket "film sims", but does it require multiple images to do so or can it take all 2,3,4 or whatever at once so there is no delay and only one photo in multiple styles? I don't want "click click click - 3 jpegs" I was hoping it could do "click - 3 jpegs of the same...
