PLI and general insurance for trackside

Sorry to rekindle an old thread, but does anyone know of insurers that will do PL for motorsport trackside? As Mark said my current insurers and most others specifically exclude it, and its proving bit of a faff to get my insures to sort it. There must be a firm that can offer quotes off the...

    Outside portrait of a horse

Yes this is going to be the trade off, but from the amount of images I see shot like that, I guess horse owners don't mind that much, especially if they haven't seen the better alternative of it done with flash. I wonder if you have the flash gun you could put it on a stand, at just fill power...

    Outside portrait of a horse

Ha ha @Marc yes, just a bit, more than I care to remember! I’m afraid it simply won’t work if you follow that video, unless the horse is the same size as a persons head! Even if it did work placing a light stand with a flash, umbrella and a metal rod sticking out only inches from a horse...

    Sony 400mm f2.8 users?

Any body here using / used this lens? I've just picked one up and noticed it makes a constant noise, like a little fan running inside all the time the camera is powered on. Is that normal, even with the OSS off? Thanks

Recommend me a flash for Sony

Are the hot shoe replacements easy to fit should one break on a job? Sorry ignore that, just googled it.....probably easier to pack a spare flash ;-)

    Sony cash back

Just as an update, my first two claims were paid, and I've just put in a new one for another body. Interestingly now when you supply proof of purchase it asks for the photo of your hand holding the item showing the serial number and a signed bit of paper with your name on. Obviously must have...

Yes that exactly where I'm at too, I'm just surprised at how rare it is, with Philip Bloom being the only one that springs to mind.

No you don't need to be an amazing photographer, but wouldn't the review be so much more rounded if along with the skills you mentioned, that they also used the gear extensively in the field, and consequently could report on its merits and shortcomings through experience of use not just tech...

A guy sitting in front of a desk, talking about gear, not really proof of ability, surely? Yes of course I've been looking, but no luck, and maybe you're right ;-) Yes He's a good example of how I expected all these guys to be like, great cinematographer and knowledgable about the best kit...

“He who can does; he who cannot, teaches.”

Recently I’ve been looking for some technical advice on equipment for shooting videos, and there’s lots of very helpful stuff on YouTube, but I’ve noticed that a lot of the YouTubers don’t seem to have any actual samples of their own video work, but they do seem to know an awful lot about the...
