So, I tell the wife I fancy getting away for a week in the autumn and what does she do ? Book a 4 day trip with Heatherlea in the Cairngorms (I was thinking more like the Canary Islands!) ANyway, lots of wildlife on offer with the trip, but as it starts on a Saturday and we depart on the Wednesday morning, I'm thinking of staying up in the area for a day or two to do some landscape stuff.

Does anybody have any ideas of where to go or what can be found ? I thought I read about some waterfalls in the area, is this the case ?

Any pointers gratefully accepted :)

If you can get to the GlenShee area especially late afternoon, you will have a good chance of seeing stags, they are usually on the left hand side of the A93 on the approach to the ski centre
