Blackmagic Pocket 4k lens on a tight budget

Apologies for late responses, thanks for the links - that's very interesting. Also i've bought the glidecam, it hasn't come yet but for £30 how can I say no? If it helps that's something :) I've managed to get some shots which following processing in resolve, for an newbie like me I'm...

Blackmagic Pocket 4k lens on a tight budget

I get exactly what you mean - the Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF) that you linked to came today and even to an idiot like me it is worlds apart in controlability. This lens you recommended initially seems quite reasonable for money paid. I haven't been able to do much...

Blackmagic Pocket 4k lens on a tight budget

Mentioned it to my parents who threw a camera bag at me (mum used to be into photography), some interesting Tamron lenses in there but I don't think they'll be suitable, adapter apparently is arriving today (wasnt expecting it for a bank holiday) so might be able to have a play before the one i...

Blackmagic Pocket 4k lens on a tight budget

I have noticed that, I presumed it was down to my technique (totally new to this) I don't think the BMPC has any kind of constant autofocus (though you can press the button) so I think it's down to learning how to do it manually properly :o

Blackmagic Pocket 4k lens on a tight budget

Sorry for the late reply, unfortunately I've not been able to do a lot with my camera because workload has exploded (joy of self employment, grab work when you can) In a panic, because I wasn't sure with some of the suggestions on here whether I'd need an adapter, I bought after reading a few...

Blackmagic Pocket 4k lens on a tight budget

Sorry if this is a cliche thread or a repeat subject :/ I have done some searching :) I've just taken the plunge and bought a Black magic pocket 4k camera to learn a bit of video work beyond my gopro, It needs a micro four thirds lens, and whilst I'm going to save up for the best I can, I...

Any of you use a Bridge camera as you main camera ?

I actually also, like the OP have a AZ401 I never mention it because obviously it's not really pro (that said neither really is my gopro, which is my main device now). One day I will upgrade to a black magic pocket 4k (more into video than stills) but the AZ401 does allright for stills...

Photograph it NOW - boring photos can be interesting

I have a lot of time for sentimental photos - our world changes so fast and if you think about it, it's only really relatively recently we've had the power to record it. Storage is 'cheap' these days, particularly in digital form so why not, I spent many hours looking at photos of things that...

    Photography in public

I hadn't looked at it specifically from a child protection perspective, the problem with this area in particular is a) we're far more cautios and aware than we used to be as a society but b) perhaps the main thing here, is you only need the mention, accusation or anything of possibly doing...

    Photography in public

Thanks so much for the feedback, this is wonderful. I did a bit of an assessment in what I want from my photography and for me it's to add visuals to my sounds (not so much music video, more abstract - people moving, transport, the corporate machine, etc) which does involve people but more from...

    Photography in public

Thanks for the feedback, not just me then :) Obviously there's some etiquette elements here (i.e don't try to look suspicious or be antisocial and throw cameras into people) but say you just want to capture hustle and bustle so to speak, theoretically you can but it does feel awkward. I've not...

    Photography in public

I have done a bit of a search and didn't find anything particularly similar but I bet it has cropped up here before. And that is, confidence when in public with a camera. Not being in front of a camera, but rather that annoying imposter-syndrome feeling of you shouldn't be here or doing this...

Thankyou for the welcome, looking forward to it :) Not sure where to host clips to demonstrate the sort of timelapse I'm into but you can see a 5 second demo on my own site here: Staff edit, 3 posts before you can add links

    Greetings

Hi, I've joined this site because I've been looking for a suitable forum with regards to photography, filming etc that I can have a lurk on and ask some questions and having had a nosey through some threads I thought this might fit the bill. By way of introduction, I'm UK based (think 'norf'...
