This was very very unexpected when this bird turned up, we were well over half a mile to the nearest tree line and were photographing Marsh Harriers at the time. We think it maybe a female due to its size but i stand to be corrected on that one. Anyway a very pleasant surprise on a cold morning.

Yeah the dark band annoys me a bit, i could clone it out to make it similar to the rest of the background.
