Shot this on 35mm pound land film... and without pointing out the obvious (its not shot in portrait) what do people think of this portrait of a man on the High Street?

So I set out the other night and climbed cleeve hill in Cheltenham to do my first 'astro shoot'... I don't think it was the worst attempt made but something doesn't seem right about them! Any idea how I can improve, as astronomy is something I am very keen on learning about and photographing it...
