London Meetup for evening outings into London

Evening peeps, whilst the weather is slightly on the warmer side particularly in the evenings and of course taking advantage of the upcoming summer solstice. I would like to organise and gather together fellow photographers for a golden/twilight hours evening trip into London. It will be nice to...

    Magic Beach

This photo was taken on the Diamond Beach - a black sand beach in East Iceland near Jokulsarlon. This was a 15 second at f/16, iso200 and a 6-stop ND filter. I used the Magic Cloth Technique to dodge the sky and burn the beach - making the ice glow.

    Night time photography in Cardiff.

Hey everyone. I thought I would brave the bitter cold to have a go at some night photography. Havent used my camera in ages but every time I cycle past these spots in the dark I think they would make pretty great photos. In terms of technique I just tried to get the adjustment bar at the bottom...

    The Go-Around

Mooching by the coast .... I love, on this particular beach, how the color of the wet sand contrasts with the flow of the tide .. A spot you don't often get to stand as most times the rage of the ocean would consume you ... The top right dryer patch annoys me but was impossible to take out in...

    Porlock Weir

A quick adventure to Porlock Weir in Somerset at the weekend, wasn't expecting much as 1 I had never heard of the place and 2 the images on line looked a little drabb from my 5 min research over a cuppa T. However I very surprised at the opportunities the location provides and even got a very...

    Scarloom Waterfall, Lancashire

So today I set out to try out my new (to me!) Nikon D5300 and SRB filters. Last time I went to this waterfall I was using a EOS 5 film camera! Anyway it's a bit of slide/scramble/climb down to the river bed then a short walk up to the falls but worth it. Had the place to myself and pottered...

Sydney Opera House & Harbour Bridge - First attempt at long exposure!

Hey guys, so I recently invested in a tripod and some ND filters and have been trying some long exposures. My first port of call was to visit Mrs Macquaries Chair in Sydney to get this iconic view of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. I spent a while here and feel this is the best shot I got...

    My Bridge

The Millennium bridge is a bridge that I have most familiarity with. Every day I walk across it, seeing either St Pauls or the Tate modern on the other end. It's the bridge I use to get home, or to see my girlfriend on lunch breaks. Often, I find it stressful and frustrating to traverse, due to...

    An early shingle

An early morning at Shingle Street, a place I've been wanting to go and photograph to for a while. Was hoping for a nice sunrise, but a cloudy sky meant it wasn't going to happen. So some long exposures it was, not that I'll complain about that. A place of solitude by Martin Eyles, on Flickr...
