Hey everyone.
I thought I would brave the bitter cold to have a go at some night photography. Havent used my camera in ages but every time I cycle past these spots in the dark I think they would make pretty great photos. In terms of technique I just tried to get the adjustment bar at the bottom...
I got pretty lucky when visiting at half term - reflections twice in a trip. It gets shot by everyone but it's such a fantastic place.
Blue Hour - it was very blue and getting dark, I pulled this back slightly in post to give it a more subtle feel...
I was trying to get a single water drop on a needle. I asked on talk photography for help and once again got the help I was after :)

I usually much prefer landscape however I do like to try city and urban landscapes every now and then. Anyway last bank holiday weekend had almost perfect condition for water reflections so headed down to Liverpool's Albert Dock and Peir Head. Pretty standard stuff really but I do really like...
I know I posted some from Trotternish last week but created another crop - 17x7 just taking a tad off the sky. This is the one I am happiest with

The next is from my favourite bit of coast in the UK. Elgol. Truth be told I can take or leave the sea but...
I've been spending a lot of evenings down at the Torren Lochan and up here at Lagangarbh. Normally I shoot the cottage and the reflection of the Buachaille in a still water pool. Indeed I did this as I have done many times before a couple of weeks back.

I just love mornings like this.
An image from an early morning visit to Winkworth Arboretum. First visit in a couple of years and things have changed a bit. Car park gate is closed outside advertised opening times (it used to be open 24/7), and access to the lake side for a view over the boathouse is restricted to a small 1...
One from the bin as I was going through old images. I never really worked on it at the time but never deleted it.

I used a CPL and I didn't really like the way when I got home it rendered the colours in the sky. However it seemed a bit nice just to delete...
I've been distracted from my business as usual photography over the last couple of weeks. Good to get back to some of my (and others) well known tripod holes.
First stop last week, and probably for the last time this year was the Torren Lochan in Glencoe. I spoke to the owner of the Lochan and...
So I took delivery of a ND1000 this week and just had to try it, only had time to shoot to Salford Quays so thought extra long night time exposure.
Shot on the Fuji XT-10, Samyang 12mm @ f:8. Exposure was 9 minutes. I have to say I'm not seeing much of a colour cast from the Zomei 10 stopper...
One of the many smaller inlets connecting to the River Cam in Cambridgeshire. Taken on a misty morning, Autumn 2015.

Have a great day everyone ..
cheers,
Nige
