Just been given a Mamiya medium format camera and want to develop the film myself and then scan images in to my computer.:help:

many thanks in advance. :bang:

ive got an epson perfection 4490 photo, i find it works great on 35mm, MF and slides! should be a little cheaper now then when i got it.

whats the mamiya? congrats on the new camera!

Hello, I use an Epson 4990 which is superb for scanning 120 film. It comes with plastic negative holders for all film types and can easily produce TIFF files in excess of 100Mb.

takes quite a while though!

highest quality scans of (B+W) negs (12 of em) took 3 hours! but you honestly don't need that high a quality! the setting i use takes about 15 mins for 12 negs, works perfectly fine! you can scan 2 mf (120mm) negs at a time, then move the negs along. great scanner!

I've also got the 4490, tis a good (and cheap now) scanner.

Scanning 6x6 at full whack makes a very very large file!

Epson V700.. works a treat and is very quick..

If your mamiya is 6x4.5 then the 4490 might squeeze three frames in at a time. If your camera is 6x6 or bigger I would honestly recommend paying extra for a scanner that will do 3 6x6 frames at a time or budgeting for a better scanning film holder.
