Not really had much time to mess around with the Raynox since getting it a month ago but I managed to take this today.

This is my 1st attempt at a macro using it.

C&C welcomed

hope you don't mind
I upped brightness (32) and contrast (15) a bit to lift it...

cheers mate, I knew it was a bit dark to me leaving wb at a darker level by mistake, but im still learning ;)

Nice shot -- good detail!

How much did the Raynox cost yo,u if you don't mind my asking?

i got mine used for £25 from ebay.

But I think there is new one's on ebay for about £40

Will put it on my ever growing list!! Ta. :)

Its not as good as a Macro Lens, but its much better than the set of step up rings you see for £10.

I tried the step up rings first and werent happy with the results, but I had seen peoples images using the Raynox and I have been impressed by it.

As you can see by the image I got pretty close to the subject.

Some nice colour and detail there. I've just checked the Sony sensor is a little larger than the 450d, but only by about 1 mm. You'll get about 1:1 macro at somwhere around 100mm focal length (you can check by taking a shot of a ruler.. 23mm of ruler showing on the image means your at 1:1).
