A Common darter

Kevin, firstly a very fine shot. Have you considered using a fill flash? The lighter background is overpowering the subject/s a little I find, and a fill will take it to another level. Just a thought.

Very good as usual Kevin. I think it looks better a bit bigger over at Flickr, which better reveals the excellent clarity and detail. It does look a little "flat" to me. I see there is a very long tail at the top of the histogram. There is no gap at the top, so in that sense it is "correctly" exposed/processed, but if you haven't already tried it, you might want to take (what Lightroom calls) the whites up a bit and see what you think. It will give a slight clumping at the top of the histogram, but I don't think the small amount of clipping involved shows in the image, and you may find it "livens it up" a bit, giving more of your usual fine "bite" to the image. Just a thought.
