A morning of beards.

The Holga of motorcycles a very old simple design ( BSA nicked it for their Bantam) and a bit rough around the edges but some people love them ( Me included)

MZ TS 125 2 stroke East German communter machine. I used to have one of those. No front brake.

Do you think this one has been adapted ... it has a cable to the front hub?
Not sure if he said this because the front brakes were absolutely naff ! And the lights were terrible ! A lot of people would fit another wheel or have another hub laced into the wheel. The pivot arm for the brake was inside the hub so couldn't be made longer to give more leverage Although I rode quite a few of these and the two fifty version I never owned one, they were very cheap and the anti Japanese brigade also liked them. I did have the later model ( A third of the price of a Jap bike) on which the had fixed the brake and lights issue, both were over the top the lights were like a mobile light house and the brakes were that good you only had to think of stopping and you had stopped an hour ago !

Oh sorry yes they had huge front drums but they were completely inefective. All communist ones were. There was an idea that it was to stop riders being thrown over the handlebars, which never happens, or more likely because the types were dreadful Pneumants if the front brake did work you would just slide off across the road.

A Pneumant would last about 50,000 miles apparently cos the rubber was so hard. The lifetime of the tyre was more important than that of the rider, it was said.
