I visited Howe Ridding Woods, below Whitbarrow Scar in Cumbria on Monday. I once again failed to get any photos of Silver Washed Fritillary which is found there, but as a consolation got some nice shoots of Common Blue. The overcast, but warm weather meant they were a little less flighty than usual, and inclined to bask open-winged, which made for plenty of photo opportunities. I got some nice underwing shots too!
Taken with the Canon 5D MkIV + Canon 180mm f3.5L macro. Some hand-held, some tripod mounted, and off-camera fill-flash used.
Thanks for looking,
Dave
