Adobe bridge with camera raw

As far as I'm aware, when you double click on an image from bridge. It will open in camera raw. From there it will open in PS (that's how I do it anyway). Bridge will need something, even when you click "done" in raw, it just saves your edit. Therefore you'll need something to save as jpeg etc.

it's seems to work - "open in camera raw" from bridge, hit "done" when you're finished editing to return to bridge then "export to" custom export

ACR isn't a stand-alone programme. You need either PS or LR to install it.

Yes but you only have to launch it.you can then just use CR?

Solution

To enable Camera Raw editing in Bridge, you need an active subscription of Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Lightroom Classic. If you have an active subscription, launch either one of these apps once to resolve the issue.
Perform these steps:
  1. Launch Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Lightroom Classic.
  2. Quit Adobe Bridge.
  3. Relaunch Adobe Bridge.
Camera Raw editing is now enabled in Adobe Bridge.

You asked how you could use ACR without installing PS or LR.

You have just shown that you can't.

Launch = Install.

Agreed,I should have asked without editing in LR or PS.
you are correct.
That's a completely different question.

You don't even need to open Bridge to achieve that. Just set 'Open Jpgs in Camera Raw' in the Photoshop preferences and then both RAW & Jpg files will automatically trigger ACR.

That's how almost every press photographer that doesn't use LR edits their files.
