The thorax is as you see it, possibly slightly more red to the naked eye, and yes the abdomen was black

Having spent a bit of time researching, I'm pretty sure its a Meiosimyza rorida
I was mistaken about the abdomen colour other images show that its pretty much the same colour, throughout.
