An experiment with stacked teleconverters

These images are from a test session, the context for which is here in my Journey thread. They were captured hand-held in our garden using a Sony A7ii and Yongnuo twin flash with Kenko 2X and 1.4X teleconverters and a Laowa 100mm 2X macro lens. This setup gives a maximum magnification of 5.6X with scene height of around 4mm, but I don't think any of these images used the full 5.6X magnification. (The purpose of the test was to see how image quality held up/deteriorated with the addition of a second teleconverter rather than trying to test the extra magnification provided by adding the second teleconverter.)

There are 1300 pixel high versions of 71 images from the test session in this album at Flickr. All used effective apertures in the region of f/90. The raw files were batch processed in Silkypix and PhotoLab, with image-specific adjustments in Lightroom and output sharpening and noise reduction in DeNoise AI.

They are single-image captures. I only use stacks for flowers (sometimes).

Thanks Chris. I seem to be in a perpetual experimental phase at the moment. Get one thing working, more or less, and then think,oh, I wonder if ...... and off I go again.
