Just started my GCSE Photography course last week and was told were going to be going to be using film for the first 10 weeks. So luckly my uncle has kindly lent me his Minota 7000 and sigma lens. How is this camera for first time users? will i be able to use it ok?

I have got to buy some film and paper, so i think im going to get the Ilford film and paper, is this any goods to use?

Thanks in advance

The Minolta 7000 is a very good, solid auto-focus SLR. It has auto exposure modes as well as manual, so it's a good camera for beginners and more experienced users.

I certainly would recommend Ilford. If this is your first time doing black & white, I'd recommend you start with FP4+ (125 ASA/ISO) and HP5+ (400 ASA/ISO). Ilford have a variety of different papers in their range as well. Have a look at the link below, it'll tell you about all the various films, papers and chemicals they produce.
