I have dealt with another session from my backlog, this one from mid April. The images were captured hand-held using a Raynox 150 close-up lens on an FZ200 bridge camera with a KX800 twin flash, using ISO 100 at 1/1600 sec and f/8, which is equivalent to f/45 on a full frame camera in terms of depth of field and loss of sharpness/detail from diffraction.

The raw files were processed in DXO Optics Pro 11 to produce DNG files which were processed in Silkypix Developer 7 Pro to produce TIFF files which were processed in Lightroom 6 to produce 1300 pixel high JPEGs which can be seen in this album at Flickr.

Awesome shots Nick, particularly love number 4

Thanks Darren. It's nice that you like one of the more "environmental" shots. I like them, but I think they are not so popular as closer-in detail shots.

Wonderful set of photos Nick. Fine detail in them all.

Thanks Alby.

All nice, the spider is great, it looks like you caught the sun on it really nicely.

Thanks David. With a shutter speed of 1/1600 sec at base ISO and a small aperture I think the spider, like the rest of these, would have been entirely flash illuminated.

Very nice set of images Nick, as usual well it, and fine detail.(y)

George.

Haven't spent enough time on the macro section this year, but saw the first on the home page so had to have a look! Quality shots as always Nick, the 1st and 4th are superb!

I thought my backlog to October was bad. However - super series - 1 and 3 really standing out for me.

Thanks Neil, George, Chris.

Chris, as you may have noticed I'm dipping into my 2015 backlog now. The good news is that I've pretty much finished 2014. Only one month to do, June. The bad news is that I did sessions on 18 days that month and have around 11,000 images to go through. Odd that all the remainder from 2014 is in that one month. I've no idea why that is.
