All taken with Sony a5000 compact systems camera with kit 16-55 lens. Most are SOOC or very minimal post processing done.

Not sure about this one above compositionally. I am pleased with the house and trees in the shot and wanted to get the snowy mountains in the background in, but the left side of the photo feels empty.

Not too happy with the composition of this shot. I'd rather not have half the tree on the left in shot and would have preferred the point of view from slightly to the left to get more of the house in. Still, it has some attractive qualities.

My pick is #3 for composition and rendition!

The last take is a well rendered but poorly
composed shot… you knew that! ;-)
 
Thank you! Yes, I was quite pleased with number 3. If only it was not for the scaffolding inside the castle :(

There will be loads more mistakes like the last one, that's for sure. But hopefully by occasionally sharing them anyway and judging them, I can learn and show what is changing in my work. Really getting into this :)

Very wrong statement!

Like everyone, the next time you will be facing a subject,
you will have the reflex to take the necessary two or three
seconds to work your shot prior to SS.

Trust me, you should trust yourself a bit more! ;-)

there are many abandoned farm buildings around Lanarkshire - so this one caught my eye
hope you dont mind an edit -- and I'm only just started PP so forgive me...:(

i liked the 'space' on the left - cropped some foreground - lightened shadows blah blah
.

I think that was what was bugging me actually, the foreground more than the left hand side of the picture. That looks good, thanks!
