This horse-fly looked in a bad way, I reckon someone had whacked it. Taken with the OM-system Om-1 and the Olympus 60mm Macro lens using in camera focus stacking with 10 shots.

Got bit by a few of these at a wedding last year and had a nasty allergic reaction, agreed!

That's an interesting picture Alby.

I've only ever knowingly come across these beasties once and that was on a fishing trip in Kazakhstan and strangely everyone else was plagued and bitten multiple times but although I got buzzed I wasn't bitten once.
