Bee Fly (Bombyliidae) this morning

Fantastic shots!!

Very nice, I have seen them since the apple blossom went away, apparently they are quite good pollinators. According to the BENHS journal in some countries to stop bee flies laying their eggs in solitary bee houses, they build some dummy ones which like more attractive to bee flies but don't have any space for bees to lay their eggs in.

Nice shots #2 has nailed it... think you may be able to run #1 through Topaz Sharpen A1 (stablize) and it will get rid of some of that motion blur (y)

Thanks for your kind comments everyone. These were taken with a Raynox DCR-150 and Marumi ring flash attached to my Nikon 70-200 f4.

Which just goes to show that there are 'cheaper' ways of taking 'macro' shots. - The Raynox was around £50.00 and Marumi £20.00 (both on ebay!)
