BOBBCN 52 in 2025!! (WEEK 05 - SNAPPER'S)

Works well for the theme Bob and the story behind it gives some context. What an absolute shame that the building has been treated in this way.

Nice one Bob :)

That works, and thanks for the backstory.

Great shot Bob. I really like the composition and the processing. An interesting story as well.

it makes me wonder who are the biggest vandals in this story,

Thought provoking image, Nice.

Cracking shot of what looks like a fascinating building

Cool backstory. A shame to see it left to rot, but works well for our purposes :)

Such a shame it looks an impressive building

Nice to know the back story - nice shot of a building which has seen better days.

What a fabulous building

Interesting building and story

I love this shot Bob.

Speaks volumes about human nature.

Many thanks for the comments!!

WEEK (04) - MORNING LIGHT

This is the back of the much-hated Agencia Tributaria. (Tax Office). Taken from a distance at about 7.30 this morning. The upper floor has some of the blinds down but downstairs looks to be fully illuminated and ready for the hoards of tax inspectors who will spend their day investigating and probably fining self-employed workers like myself......

Yep that does the job :)

More than fits the bill. Nicely done.

Fits the theme Bob, wonder what it's like working there knowing the next phone call is probably from someone less than happy.

That looks like a very depressing place to work, it may be why they spread the misery onwards! It fits the theme perfectly.

Nice one Bob. Too early for me....
Me too, but sacrifices ......
Yep that does the job :)
Ta!!
More than fits the bill. Nicely done.
Cheers
Something a little different Bob and works well.
I tried to avoid a sunrise type of shot, but I feel it's a bit off the theme, but thanks.
That fits the theme. I like the dark/light contrast of the two floors and I bet the upper floor is the senior inspectors!
Thanks. Yes, reserved for the ones who try to dodge huge tax claims.

Yes, they just deal with people moaning about having to pay up and face a fine.

For sure they spread the misery!! I had some trouble recently. They actually wanted me to repay the the benefits which they paid out during covid, claiming that they had miscalculated and paid too much. Luckily, I escaped ........

WEEK (05) - Snapper's Choice

This was a quick phone grab as I didn't have my camera.

It's a stairwell or lightshaft in a building in the 'Eixample' in Barcelona. This is quite a large zone of blocks of flats which covers a huge area of the city. Anyways, a long ime ago the rich residents preferred the lower floors as they were nearer the street and they could sit on their balconies and watch the horse drawn carriages, and the elegant people strolling by. Move forward some years and this has been literally turned on its head as now people prefer the attics far away from the noise and the pollution of cars, buses etc. Of course, all of this wouldn't have been possible without the invention of the lift. .... I'm getting there .... So I was surprised to find such a stairwell as this was the only place where lifts could actually be installed.
There are still hundreds of buildings with their original metal cage type lifts with lots of wooden panelling and brass fittings. I imagine this building had some major renovations done recently and they were able to install the lift elsewhere.
