Beginner Book Suggestions: Reference/Tip Book

Hi guys

Looking for a good photography book in the style that you can read 1 page/topic at a time (no large word chapters etc)

Something super basic that uses images/text that gets straight to the point, something you can pick up, browse to a page and have something interested to try/ learn from with examples of the topic

It's a gift for my mum who has been getting into photography the last year or so and has actually stuck at it!

Any suggestions would be a huge help.

I bought a good few books at the start but one I like was a cheappy from the works book?craft shop for about £8.00 was " The complete digital photo Manual "printed in association of the digital photo magazine ( no authors Name). really good easy to follow book..

The Scott Kelby books are 1 page of a theme at a time but maybe for someone who already knows the basics of photography.

Thanks Guys, I ended up going with a suggestion on another forum that was pretty much perfect (despite it's size!)

it gives lots of examples and covers a single theme over 1-2 pages:
