Bristol Cameras - Disappointing

Purchased a spare battery for my ZFC a couple of weeks ago from Bristol cameras. Website stated in stock and, ordered on the Thursday, I expected them to ship it Friday for a Saturday or Monday delivery. Nothing came so I checked the order status on Tuesday and it still just said "order acknowledged". Later that day I called and the phone was answered by a rather brusque male.

"Hi there. I just wanted to enquire as to when you're expecting to ship the battery I purchased last Thursday?"

"Let me check.. Oh, the batteries are out of stock and are on their way to us from Nikon. We should get them in a few days."

"Would it not have been pertinent to point that out on the order page, and/or email me to let me know? The battery was ordered 6 days ago and I had hoped to have received it by now."

"We're not open at the weekend so really sorry we've not contacted you in a whole two working days!" he said in a very sarcastic tone.

And that was the best I got from him. No apology for the batteries being out of stock, despite still showing as in stock on the website; no apology for the delay and finally a very rude and sarcastic response to my polite question.

I will personally take my business elsewhere in the future.

Sadly, I’ve had the same experience and won’t use them anymore, shows in stock but that is at a supplier and not them from my experience.

I would have cancelled there and then.

I've had a similar experience too.

It seems to me that they are one of a growing number of businesses who advertise stuff they simply don't have and then expect you to wait while they get it shipped to you from somewhere else or only order it when they have your money.

Small operation that has got smaller over the years, I wouldn't buy from them unless I was in the shop and what I wanted was there.
