hi guys

i am new to the forum so hope i am in the right place (and hello),

i currently use a sony a7riv but am looking at the canon 5dmark iv - my question is when i tried one of these in the past it didn't have focus peaking which made working with manual lenses really tricky for me (my sight isn't great so i use it a lot). does anyone know if the new canon has focus peaking - sorry but cant seem to find it anywhere and no responses from canon
thanks
neil

Hi Neil
The 5d is a dslr and not mirrorless like the Sony. Therefore focus peaking can only be used with the live view screen, and wouldn’t be possible through the viewfinder.

Edit to add; you might also need to use alternative software in the camera, it looks like there’s no option in the Canon software.

I’d recommend looking at the r6 as an alternative to the Sony if you want to buy a Canon.
