No
I'm selling my Canon 6D, just got round to checking the shutter count and cannot for the life of me find the USB cable. I've found a similar one but that doesn't work.

2 questions:

1. Can any of the utilities do this via Wifi or via Photo Exif (Ive heard they don't work on the 6D)

2. Can anyone recommend a cable on Amazon/ebay that is known to work? Slightly worried a generic cable wont read it the same?

Thanks!

jon

Cant see why a generic cable wouldnt work. Not sure later Canons will tell you what their shutter count is, I thought Canon disabled it and only visible now at a service centre, I could be wrong.

I could not get a shutter count website to say my old 6d and I had the right cable.

I've used EOSCount on both my 60D and my 6D. You have to plug the camera in via USB though.
It's browser based, but you have to use a 32bit browser and install an ActiveX plugin. I've used it in Internet Explorer before.
You do also have to pay a small fee to use it, but it's not a major cost.
I tried a few other free ones but they didn't work.
