I have an up coming job that requires me to get some additonal shots of a car.
From what I can tell by the location shots i've been sent its an old far area with some grungy buses and dirty barns, which suits me fine as it sounds really cool.

I've not been told what the car is but its not a classic, it looks a little like a BMW m5 or something.

Since I dont shoot cars very often does anyone have any go to places that have amazing shots of cars. I thinking top notch, not just the usual crap I found on google image search.

Thank you in advance.

there was one on here which was stunning, but it was effectively 5 images overlaid with multiple flash and light painting, the whole thing looks almost computer generated by the end of it. not quite to my tastes but stunning.
are you using a car rig? or just static shots? there are quite a few threads on car rigs too
good luck

I hadnt really thought about a car rig, it depends on the cost and their budget. What would one of them cost?

there will be loads of places available, just have a drive around the area and see what you can find.

I only really do cars and I find during the week is much harder to get a good location as everywhere is busy. Early morning weekends are the best time.

To buy a car rig it is very expensive. You can make your own though. That's what I have done.

I have a build/rig thread here...

My current rig is detailed a few pages into the thread.

Also check out my facebook page...

it might give you some inspiration on locations and shots.

hope that help :)

Loving that rig stuff bud (y) me though, I'm far too lazy for all that editing afterwards (that and I don't know how you do it !!!)

Back to OP though - if you get a decent/interesting background just a couple of speedlights can make for quite a nice shot :)
