Interesting interactions with this retailer. Withheld my full deposit of £100 when I came down with a nasty dose of Covid the day after I put the deposit down at their small show in Newport in June. I fortunately did not pay the whole amount as I was not sure how accurate their trade in estimate was and I wanted to do this face to face in Cardiff shop. There was no real loss incurred by them as anybody who had ordered one would have been able to get one immediately and actually the customer would have received this item much sooner- this one was in a warehouse I think, or at the branch . Being so unwell, I didn't challenge this. Eventually, last month, a used RF 16mm f2.8 appeared so I decided to just buy that.

When it arrived, I immediately put it on my R5. It focus hunted repeatedly; I reported this and said I would check to see if my settings were demanding too much of it. I switched the focus method and that did the trick. Meanwhile, I received another email saying that if there was a fault, I would have to send it off for repair. I replied; I pointed out that if it had not been fit for purpose, it would have been sent back to them for a refund.

Some days later, I decided to write and explain what had happened to the director whose name was on the company house website as a director. I received another reply which actually made me laugh

I responded ... I have never had customer "service" like this anywhere else... it is unique. I have never had "service" like this from LCE, Park, WEX, Ffordes, I believe this is the same person who asked me a question that basically asked I could focus a lens earlier in this back and forth. I did not cut off the person's name beneath the word 'regards'. There was no name.

Yeah they are pretty crap have had a few poor experiences with them.

Tbf I believe legally that they don’t have to provide a refund on used items if there is a fault and they can offer a repair in the first instance. It’s different if the item is new. If you had of purchased online due to distance selling regulations you would have been entitled to a refund.

I visited just after Christmas as I was on a short break in Cardiff, was discussing all things Fuji with one of the salesman, who was very proud that their shop was the first to push up the prices of new stock Fuji X100V to £1800 and above - definitely not good practise from an official Fujifilm retailer (IMHO) - at which point I excused myself and left the shop.
