The spacing of the eggs is one of the remarkable things I noticed. None touching, and each one looks the same spaced distance apart for the adjacent ones. How clever is nature?

Good point - these eggs were touching but they were paratised (wasps came out instead of shield bugs)

I wonder though why some creatures don't like them touching and others do
