Common Green Lacewing - Chrysoperla carnea by Ajophotog, on ipernity
It did Chris, I was shooting weevils when l spotted it lolAnd of course it just had to sit on a green leaf didn't it?
Nice capture Alby
Cheers Bryn.Stunning capture
Cheers Si, l too liked the way the sun was lighting the scene.Lovely Alby, great back-lighting on the leaves really makes this
Indeed, far to many insects to know and learn about and the fact that some need cutting up to get a positive ID is not helpful.Very good, sadly the only thing harder than getting good photos of lacewings is identifying them from photos!
Thanks for passing by Nick, glad you like.I think that is really appealing. I love all the variation of textures and light in the leaf, in such a strong, almost abstract straight line arrangement. And the lacewing so well placed against a brighter area, its interesting shape contrasting well and holding its own against the strong background. Lovely balance.
