Compact Flash Cards?

I was looking for a few pointers on CF cards if possible please?

I have (or will soon have ) a Canon 40d and since I last bought a CF card (about 4 years ago) there seems now to be a bewildering array of speed rating, read speeds and write speeds. Ideally I would like something that will not restrict continuous shooting on the 40d, but also I would rather not pay for a faster card if the only benefit is download speed to the PC.

I use Sandisk Ultra, 30MB/s. Sandisk have a good reputation for reliability and the Ultra 30MB/s offer a good balance of speed and cost.

Beware of cheap fakes on Ebay.

Thanks for the quick reply, as long as 30MB/s is fast enough I know what to look for. I used to use www.mymemory.co.uk who always seemed to be reasonable. Will have a look there now

I recently purchased another two of the Sandisk Ultra cf cards (4gb) about three weeks ago from Amazon. It was the cheapest place at the time.Hope this helps.

Your 40D won't be able to take advantage of higher speeds, so 30 MB/s is ideal.

I use Sandisk or Lexar cards and am very happy with them.

The Sandisk Ultra or Extreme cards or older Extreme I, II, III cards are more than fast enough for the 40D.
