Coventry Ringroad Photoshoot

In Coventry we are proud of our ring road, so when I heard that a group of local photographers were going on a photowalk around the ring road I had to join them. We spent four and a half hours, and 16,000 steps, and got some decent photos, even though I have lived in the city for over 10 years it was goos to explore new places, and I have also spotted a few shots that I want to return to. I felt like the grey autumnal light and our grey concrete architecture leant themselves to shooting black and white, and I mostly used my 35mm prime (nifty fifty equivalent).

Point of trivia, that is the spot where the photo on the cover of The Specials' first album was taken by Chalkie Davies in 1979

I do like a photowalk in the less obvious parts of town, I usually come back with images from places that I would not have found on my own despite living in London for almost forty years.
