I read somewhere that because of USA embargo laws, the Cubans couldn’t get new cars. So all the existing cars were just kept going.
No MOT, nothing.

That's correct... they are great improvisers!

There used to be a Russian tractor factory in Cuba and most the old cars are running on diesel tractor engines as USA wouldn’t let them have spares….. very interesting country

Did you stay at the Parc Central? We went in 2017 and 2020 and it changed a lot in the meantime, but service in the hotel was very much like any other communist country (chaotic).

Have not been to Camarguey, I still want to do the east of the island (having done Cienfuegos, Trinidad and Vinales - twice).

Amazing place, great photos.
