Kind of forgot about these as just back from Skye where I had the pleasure of running into @Steelo who was taking someone on a workshop.

These were taken on one of my trips up there last month.

The light strangely went after this, most of the cloud was behind me so shortly after this it just faded.

I know there is a lack of clouds but I love clear blue skies anyway and wouldn't have had it any other way for my first trip that yielded reflections here.

I like those, prefer the light in the second which is lovely, looks a great morning. Only crit would be that I don't think the foreground rock adds anything, if anything it distracts. I'd not normally clone something that big out but I'd be tempted to here.

Funny you mention it - I tried composing one without the rock after and it worked well for me but the light had faded so its nae use. Perhaps with a few clouds in the shot you suggest would probably be my chosen one as they'd help fill the frame better.

These are both really nice, but the early light on the hills in the second image takes that one to another league. As for the rock, I can't decide but with or without, wish that 2nd image was mine.

I think the rock needs to stay in for the time being or a wider aspect used as although I love clear blue skies, too much of them in a frame isn't an ideal thing. I probably went with the foreground to allow for a frame filling composition.

I'd probably think 16:9 and clone out the top part of the rock. I will be back here and truth be told summer/autumn is better as the heather will be blooming which makes for a nicer colour palate although the snow adds a rare element.

You'd like it here.

I think you've hit your jackpot, Steve,
your kinda shot! :)(y)

Steve, seriously.
They're beautiful. Both.
I doff my cap.

The second one is my favourite just because of the nice light on the mountain. Just proves you don't always need clouds when the conditions are calm.

Nice, Steve, as ever. The sun on the hilltops does add a certain "je ne sais quoi" but haven't we seen this before?

Yes but who cares if this sort of thing has been done before. I don't. I've done it before and I'll keep doing it, again and again.

We've seen split toned trees with vingettes, dark skies over Elgol, durdle door at sunset/sunrise, ashness jetty, the waterfalls with candy floss water at Glencoe/ingleton etc.

It's just that you've quite clearly got excellent photographic skills; why not try other things too?

Because I don't want/need to and have no interest in taking images of things/places that don't appeal to me.

This is the type of place I like and conditions I like being in so this is what'll be doing more of.
