Reading something on the web last evening I decided to try out some hand held macro flash shots, it was probably about 2130 so pretty dark but not absolutely dark. These images are just part of my learning curve in macro, knowing me they're probably a bit over the top colour wise but I didn't do much PP other than cropping!

This is the one that surprised me most, when taking the shot I wasn't aware of these Leafhoppers on the plant, when I checked the garden later they were everywhere! There certainly seemed to be more insects about at dusk than I expected.

They are a tough subject usually
 
Thanks for the comments, the hoppers exhibit a variety of behaviour, most seemed to fly/hop away as soon as I approached but some were rooted to the spot and I was able to set up and take the shots.
We seem to have a plague of them, can't recall seeing them before but then again I wasn't really into macro last year.
