There are already a couple of maybes...

Tiger moth, or Gypsy moth... But still awaiting any confirmation...

Hmm, another option...

This ID malarkey is tough sometimes.

The curious thing I'm looking for is that raised"dot" on the cocoon. If I can find one with that too, that might be the defining factor...

I want be tempted to keep in a box and see what happens. I did that with shield bug eggs and got parasatoid wasps

Remove the leaf put it in a container with air holes and wait.
Advice I am yet to follow.
