I am just experimenting with digiscoping using a Celestron C90 scope (1250mm FL) and am fighting the phone and the holder. My Pixel 7 has two cameras (lenses), My alternative Huawei has 3, Both cameras seem to get confused as the eyepiece covers only one or perhaps 11/2 lens and the so called AI firmware doesn't respond well. Is it necessary to blank out all but the taking lens?

Can’t help as I was wondering the same thing having tried to digiscope with my iPhone 15 and Opticron ES80 ‘scope last week. Hopefully someone can clue us both in…

For the iPhone, if you use a 3rd party app (Halide is excellent) you can force it to use a particular lens.

The issue there is even if you select 1x or the tele it'll actually switch to the others and crop depending on focus distance.

With black tape over wide angle.lens I got this at 35m. Image on X2 to avoid vignetting
