The TP 52 - 2025 Disney93 - 52s 2025 - Week 5 - Snappers Choice

Week 1 - Food

Now I know why they say don't work with animals! I can assure you that no fingers were harmed during the making of this photo!
Lilly having a treat from Mr Browns' hand. She is usually very gentle. Took a couple of shots to get the focus correct, thanks to Mr Brown for helping me fiddle with his camera to help with the photo. Took some editing in Lightroom as well - but over all I am pretty pleased.

Brave man….. both for the feeding and for the camera fiddling. Lol

Great idea Sophie, I've done something similar with my little one.

yes I thought so too! Me and technology don’t go together very well, but he’s very patient!

Nice - your efforts certainly paid off.
Thank you! Lilly certainly had no issues being given treats so I could get a good picture.

They always say that black cats are the hardest to take photos of.
Ha! certainly learnt that!

Good start, you have capturing the moment well.
Thank you!

Great minds then!

That is a very focused cat! (Sorry for the pun...)

Week 2 - Cold

Well we've certainly had the weather to work with this theme! I took a couple of pictures but submitted the first one because I like the curve of the mirror providing a break in the picture. The other two I liked the effect of the ice on the bodywork of the car and the effect the ice has on the pavement outside the house. Managed to have a go at the Macro Lens. Took some teaching but I think I got there in the end! Please feel free to give advice, as to what I could have done differently.

I think you chose the best of the three, I like the mirror too.

The only thing I would have done differently would be to try and extend the DoF. You do want the background out of focus, but it would be nice if all the mirror was sharp.

Good work!

Sums up the last few days very nicely. I agree with your choice of the three but they’re all good, nicely done.

Nice and abstracty :)

Thank you very much for all your comments and compliments. I'll shall have another look at the Macro lens for future themes!

Week 3 - Graffiti & Wide Angle Tech

For this week, I was going to take a picture of the local skate park, but a road closure diverted me past a piece of building art by Paul Curtis. Highlighting the history of Southport, where Red Rum used to train on Southport Beach in preparation for the Grand National. The picture was taken under 35mm, so I'm hoping that meets the wide angle tech that I had to google.

Nice. I bet that was murder to paint! (If you know, you know.)

Cracking mural - when I lived in Bristol there were more there then I've ever seen, and this one is of a similar quality.

Week 4 - Morning Light

Taken only this morning, after a windy day yesterday curtesy of Storm Eowyn, woke this morning to the sun shining! Waking much later then planned, but when its the weekend and you're not on shift, I take all the lie ins I can get!

Lilly also decided to take advantage of the rare appearance of the sun.

I submitted Lillys' picture because I liked the stripes the blinds created on her white fur, and because it was such a spur of the moment picture of her looking at me before she moved!

The other two are the same picture, but I couldn't decided which one looked better, the colour or the black and white..? Feel free to express your opinions and why.
