Donating old kit.

I have a couple old digital cameras and while I could probably sell them I think giving them to a charity is the better option.

I would much rather give to a charity that deals with cameras and photography rather than just a local hospice, nothing against them, but it seems better that the donated gear will go to help someone directly.

Are they any such charities and do you have any dealing with them?

Cheers.

The Disabled Photographers' Society would probably be very happy to get it.

Just find a young teen who has a photography interest and give both the camera and some basic lessons to them on how to use it. To find this person,, ask the neighbors, high school teachers, etc. I did this with a young adult grand daughter, and created a photography monster. Then check on their progress and give some free tips as they learn, maybe even giving other accessories that you no longer need as they become more proficient. An occasional session with them should help too. The camera goes everywhere my grand daughter goes and her shots are becoming quite good. If she continues, she will be inheriting the entire contents of my photo/video studio.

They usually have a stall at the Photo Show where you can donate.
