Hi all,

Anyone going to Brands Hatch next weekend for the Dtm?
I'm going on Sunday race day as I'm working Saturday so Can't do the whole weekend:crying:
Going to try and do the Pit walk Sunday Morning then I'll be making my way up to the inside of druids for the action.
I'll be with the other half and she likes to get settled for the race so not to much roaming for me!!
I'll be shooting with a 7d probably with my Sigma Bigmo or ef 24-105 attatched and will probably have a black McClaren T-shirt on.
Come and say hello if your about I don't bite, not sure about the Mrs mind:D

I think i will be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Its a great event with plenty of time on track for the DTM cars (almost as much as the endurance boys get). So tons of time to wander around looking for cool shots i don't usually have time for!

Really looking forward to it - lets hope it doesn't disappoint.

Have just received a press release from MSV saying Jenson Button will be there on Sunday, there will be an autograph session at 11.10am , and he'll try out a DTM car later with Gary Paffett.

At 11.10am on Sunday (20 May), Jenson will briefly sign autographs for fans before taking part in a live question and answer session with ex-F1 star and current Mercedes DTM racer David Coulthard. This will take place in front of the Mercedes-Benz hospitality suite located in the public areas behind the Pit Straight grandstand.

Shortly afterwards, Button will take the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz DTM ‘race taxi’ with current DTM championship leader Gary Paffett alongside; the first time Button will have driven the circuit since his British F3 days in 1999.

Well guys, looking forward to it even more now that I've bought a (new to me) lens to play with;)
Don't tell the Mrs though:D
Got hold of a Sigma 120 - 300mm f/2.8 EX second hand and hope to give it a good test on Sunday.
Lets hope the weather is good for us.

I'll be there :)

Coolcat.... you might not have much luck with inside of Druids... depending on how they feel they will either shut the top end off or the entire thing - because they have a boom camera on the inside and you might trip over the cables...

Don't forget to bring ear plugs - these guys are seriously damagingly loud - the only thing I wear ear protection for!

I'm thinking of going on the Saturday. I've not been there before, apart from a track day where I stayed in the paddock/pits, so any advice on good spots will be appreciated. I'll be the tall bloke with the Sonys. :)

Definitely I'd say for anyone who has never seen DTM in the flesh - see it!

Amazing machinery and the noise! I say that and I'm not even a car fan!

Never had a problem inside Druids before, over the bridge and in, hope nothing's changed.
Haven't been since the btcc in October last year!
I know what your saying about the noise, always keep a set of buds on my key ring. First time for me at the Dtm but I'm sure the noise isn't any worse than f1 and gt cars but I think my ears have become used to it or rather I'm getting progressively more deaf!
Do hope I can get on the inside of Druids, no catch fence and dappled shade from the trees is always welcome but if not any other favourites ? I usually park at the southbank parking so somewhere around there would be good.
Let's hope for some good racing and photo ops anyhow.

DTM is always different with fencing.... you have to remember with DTM they hire out the circuit from Brands and do with it what they want... unlike things like BTCC...

If you look on here you will find past discussions of photography conditions during DTM!

That's a shame, really good spot and the Mrs likes it ( near an ice cream van and the toilets)
Anywhere else would you recommend for us guys on the wrong side of the fence.
I have got tickets for the morning pit walk and also paddock Grandstand ( not that I have any intention of sitting in a grandstand ) plus general admission .
Don't want to have to walk to far with the new Lens to carry around, haven't been to the gym in years and not sure my arms could take it!

In the afternoon try Clearways...

Top half of druids definitely fenced off...am looking at it now :)
