It has been a number of years since I have shared anything in this subforum, but today I ventured back to Donington Park, to the Dukeries Rally. The main reason was to show my son some rally cars, but I did get to do some photography too. These were my favourite shots:

Thanks, I don't usually venture around that side of the circuit, but my son wanted to sit in the grandstand, and from there I spotted a convenient gap in the fence. It would probably work well on a bigger race meeting with more cars on track. Especially with another car in front of the Corsa heading towards the old hairpin.

I agree - for this there is too much to distract off track for this to work, too little crowd, too much "litter" (random s***) taking the eye off the subject, but I agree at a busy meeting with more crowd and more cars, a great angle.

I've never seen the appeal of a rally on a circuit myself - Rallying is for the forests or roads where its pretty and wild, for photos anyway!

I agree, but it is local and easy to take my son to for his first rally. I'm hoping to get in to the Welsh forests next month.

if i have time I'll take a walk down the outer fences at Donington, i normally end up with rear 3/4 images through redgate and down craners then head up the bank by starkeys and up to mcleans, coppice where you can get a view over the fence. I've never been successful trying to shoot through the fence

Fab stuff. I miss Oulton Park after moving further North a couple of years ago. Must get there this year!
