e-Infin Is Beginning To Annoy Me

I ordered an expensive lens on 02/06. 3 days later they sent me a picture of the lens together with my order details. The next day they sent me a DPD tracking number and a confirmation email that the lens had been picked up by the courier and was on its way to me. That was on 07/06. Today is 10/06 and DPD has still not received the parcel. I've sent them a couple of emails and no response to either. I'm sure the lens will turn up but the lack of response to emails is worrying should there ever be a warranty issue. Not impressed thus far.

Never used them myself, I never seen the need after buying from Panamoz, and their communication is spot on, ok they may be a more expensive than E-infinity, but you can't fault their service.

That is normal for them they send the u.k tracking number but they don’t provide the tracking from China to the U.K. It will update when the the parcel is picked up by DPD after it hits the U.K.

They have always been bad at responding to emails.

I actually read a thread on here with many saying the same thing, Tommy. Just got back from a long day so thought I'd quickly vent. Feel much better now! It's funny. I run a small company that has now become very busy. One of the reasons it's become successful is I insist all emails are answered immediately and every customer is treated well and with equal respect, no matter who they are or how much or little they've invested in our service. When I sell off a few bits of photo equipment on here I ship the same day if the PO is still open, send tracking details and pics of the parcel being handed over to the PO to the buyer. It takes a few minutes more but I never have any problems because everything is done as well as it can be. On eBay I have 1568 all positive feedback. My company has received 101 all 5 Star Google reviews since we opened 14 months ago. It's not rocket science, it's just caring. I know most companies don't operate in quite the same way; I just wish they did. As I said, my main concern is if there's a problem with the product on receipt, e-Infin's thus far contact history is zero. That's a worry.

Tel, I agree but I was purchasing several expensive items from various places. This particular lens was £125 more expensive at Panamoz so I thought I'd give them a go. I probably should have asked the latter to price match or get closer to the E-Infin price but I was pushed for time. We'll see how this works out but I really dislike poor communication and the lack of a telephone number is also frustrating. This may be my one and only purchase from E-Infin.

if you wanted a good level of service tbh you would have been better buying from Panamoz.

Yup. Now noted.

That said, in typical fashion, a few minutes after I vented..

"Great news, we have your parcel and it's on its way to you

Your parcel is due for delivery Tuesday. Your 1 hour time slot is available as soon as your parcel leaves your local depot, this is usually by 19:00."

You couldn't make it up.

Lots of Chinese operators seem to follow the same model , bought a small item via e.bay last week 3 day delivery quoted . Day 1 Royal Mail tracking said we are expecting your parcel , day 2 exactly the same .. start to get worried/ annoyed .. day 3 your parcel will be delivered today .it was .. So it seems they somehow do things differently but correctly

Don’t know whether they saw this thread but they did finally reply to my 3rd email.

Yes they may well have, in fact if the likes of E-infinity, Panamoz etc wasn't looking on photography forums I would be amazed, as these places is were their main feedback probably comes from. But anyway your gear is on the way so fingers crossed for early today, but I know what you mean by bad communication, as that's a massive bear bug for me, hence not straying from Panamoz, and theirs a number of UK companies who could take some lessons from them.

Thank you so much, I didn’t realise that price matching could be possible; I really really want a Canon R5ii and E-In is charging £261 less than Panamoz. And after reading through this thread, I definitely do not want to order from E-In!

(Although to be fair, I can only afford 2/3 of a R5ii…)
