Something from last month that I have literally just worked just now. I took it at the time, downloaded it and put the image to the back of my mind as was unsure how I wanted to crop it.

Another "non reflective" landscape just to break it up a bit....

Looks a dramatic place for photography it's got to be said. Good choice to go without much water in the shot. For me, the black point needs bringing up to really give it the contrast to stand out, but as always this is subjective and the photo is yours.

I thought it was Skye?!

I can see you are trying to keep it realistic and not kill the shadows but I quickly tried it with a screen grab and it does give it some nice punch IMO.

Yep I agree with Craig re. the black point it looks a tad on the flat side, the water in the shot doesn't bother me though and is a nice comp overall

I do like to retain shadow detail rather than have areas of heavy dark and hard to see areas of black in the image.

However there might be scope for a little more punch without making the details dark and hard to see

Right, worked on it some more. I redone it twice, didn't like it with lots of contrast. It just made it a bit depressing, dark and hard to see in my view.

A little more contrast and a tad more water.
