Had a prowl around the garden to see what was lurking and found this Shield bug, happy to pose
(AKA Green stink bug, as it's sometimes called due to the fact it produces a pungent odour from special glands if handled or disturbed )

That first shot is hitting the mark for me.

A hawthorn shield bug flew into my house last year and started buzzing around my office, so I picked it up gently between finger and thumb by the side of its carapace so I could release it outside. After doing so, I decided that washing the car would probably be the best way to get the smell off my fingers!
