Here are a couple of fire ant photos from Cambodia

This was in the hotel grounds and is part of the nest with some ants on the outside

Cool set. They are vicuous little things, I'm glad I'm not that bug (cockroach of some kind?), no escape for that one.
 
Very nice they look like weaver ants to me
However when I read wikipedia apparently weaver ants are called fire ants sometimes so I guess that is correct.

Although normally fire ants are Solopensis species not Oecophylla

I don't think the cockroach was moving.

Wonderful captures, makes me quite pleased that I only have Yellow Meadow ants and their nests in the garden here.

They were much bigger than meadow ants.
