First attempt at Macro

Good Afternoon All,
Here is my first attempt at macro photography, all taken handheld at a local park.

Having never attempted macro before I can already appreciate the skill and patience required for this kind of photography.
It's definitely challenging and fun what with the very tight focal range/depth of field available, and being careful your subject doesn't move a millimetre!!!

Now they are good for a 1st attempt, especially the 2nd shot.
I guess you was using a flash of sorts ?

No no flash was used just 50 out of focus shots for every in focus shot!

I do own an sb-600 but I can imagine it would cause shadows at the close ranges?

One in fifty is not bad to start with.

Thankyou I had another go yesterday and only came away with 1 good photo.

I will definitely give that a try as I’ve had very little use with my flash I usually try natural light but I’m already finding macrona challenge without flash.
